Beware of False Profit$
Written in 2002 by Devin Walker, a life-long member of the A.M.E. Zion Church, An Appeal to the African
Church in America: Beware of False Profit$:
- Describes the historical development of greed since the birth of Jesus and charts the church’s role
in this process.
- Documents Africa’s major role in the development of history and religion, and the many attempts by the ruling
elite of the world to hide this history.
- Discusses the church’s silence in the wake of oppression in the world including U.S. military repression in
Africa and the “Middle East.”
- Shows how less than five percent of the world’s population controls the majority of its resources and dominates
the other 95% of the world population.
- Shows how and why people of African descent scattered around the world (including the U.S.) are amongst the
poorest people on earth, even though the continent of Africa is one of the
richest in resources.
- Provides specific solutions the church can take to change the negative social and economic conditions of
poor and oppressed people.
